Day 1: Up the Simplon mule track (away from the modern road)
Day 2: The passes (either Usseri Nanzlichi or Bistinen) & the Gebidum Pass to Gspon
Day 3: The Gspon Hoheweg to Saas Grund

The Fulmoos alternative. This is another way from the Bistinenpass to the Gebidumpass but makes for a long day if you are going on to Gspon. In 2010, I went down to Visperterminen from the Gebidumpass, as I was on a different tour. To start with, I went up the Bistinen Pass as shown on this link.

On the West side, I turned left on the footpath which goes a long way South to the Fulmoos at the head of the valley below the Fletschhorn & back along the West side of the Nanztal.

The long drop before one gets to Fulmoos

The West side path follows a water track (on the left photo above), so has no up & down for about 6 km but the East side path drops a little until a path I did not take comes over, then tends upwards with some down until the path from the Sirwoltspass goes off at point 2492m. My path then dropped away for 1000 feet to a hidden waterfall under the Inneres Fulmoos. Just before that, I stopped for lunch. Just as well, as it was quite a slog up onto the Fulmoos to avoid the huge gullies, invisible from the Nanztal, which cut it up.

The dodgy area before getting onto the water track.

Having crossed this, it was a bit of a lark to get onto the water track, as there are messy & steep bits by smaller gullys that come in, for their water to be gobbled up by the water track. However, after a spectacular overhang, it was plain sailing for miles to the Gebidum Pass, which appears suddenly round the corner of the little Rothorn at the end of the ridge separating the Nanztal from the Mattertal. Then take the Southerly path to Gspon. Straight ahead is the path to Visperterminen &, being now 67 & it had been already, a long day, I took the chairlift down from Giw to avoid a tedious walk, or rather, drop through the woods.
