Skiathos with the Jones' - Page 2 |
On Day Three: Geof comes up at breakfast time (9-10ish) & said he’d seen a guy on the telly Euro-news this morning with a “Still European” tee-shirt on. Ken said he also had one & he said, “It was you”, from the Parliament Square demo about EU-citizens’ rights to stay. This was another fine day, although it was cloudy at first. We took the Jones' to the Evangelista Monastery first. There is only one monk there now (seen below).

From the monastery, the road (this one is surfaced) goes West to Platanos, a restaurant with the most amazing view over the city.

There is another monastery on the island, Panagia Kounistra, which is just above Zorbathes, to which we went after stopping for lunch on the Paralya (in the city) but first, Ken took them to Koukounaries, allegedly the best beach in Europe & delightfully deserted at this time of year but nor is the beach taverna open.
