Maude always seemed to be a 'strapping wench', full of bounce, so it was a particular shock to learn of her death. She seemed to be interested in music & Ken had made her a playlist of ethnic music from all over the World to see what struck her imagination. She became ill over Xmas & Jason took her to University College Hospital twice, where, as came out in the much-delayed inquest, the correct procedures for croupe were followed. Apparently getting better, she went home on New Year's Eve. At the inquest on July 22nd, the verdict was that she died on influenza & adenovirus, the latter of which everyone carries but, having been refused influenza vaccine by the new Health Secretary, the evil NHS-smashing ideologue, Andrew Lansley, the adenovirus exacerbated the effect of the 'flu. Ken wrote a piece of music for 14 players called, "Oh, Maude!"
