The Force Scrapbook
|
Ken discovered this village South-West of Carcassonne on a 'History Today' lecture tour in 2002 but, being on a coach, could not explore it further. Patrick Delaforce sent out a daughter to 'recce' & discovered that it is also a circular bastide like Fourcès in Gascony, which is definitely one of ours, leading Ken to think the family may have been at La Force before Fourcès & imported this Languedocian design into Gascony. The village website is on this link In another year, Ken will investigate further & inform the Force e-mail list of any discoveries.
