Ken's ancestral tour through
|
This was a trip we took in June 2003. A bit of background is necessary for the genealogy bit & this is largely in Patrick Delaforce's book & on Ken's family tree pages to avoid boring people only interested in this pleasant part of the World. I managed to keep most of the receipts for once, so note that the prices are end-June 2003 &, if your browser does not do Euro symbols properly, they are the thing shown as a funny squiggle or might come out as question marks.
The reference to 'green roads' are those marked on the maps with green lines alongside. These are supposed to be particularly pretty & usually are. But many of the ungreened roads are, as well.
In this site, bold links are to other parts of the Delaforce material e.g. link to Force Scrapbook Index & normal links are to external web sites, mostly town ones & usually, alas, in French e.g. Verdun (in French).
Alternatively, you can download a .pdf book of all the photos I took in decent sizes & the text on the pages below plus the text in the Force Scrapbook on this link (9MB, so only do it if you have a broadband connexion).
The pages labeled 'Notes' below are in the Force Scrapbook.
