To Aachen for the Christmas Markets - Kornelimunster

We left at 1030 for the short drive to charming Kornelimunster, 4 miles from Aachen but over the hill. First call was St. Stephen's Church on top of the hill. Closed unfortunately, as it was Carolingian. We had coffee in the Café Napoleon, who stayed there & visited antique shops. The church in the monastery was open & had new glass & one altar piece had a modern insert. Otherwise, it was pure 14thC.
