Panorama from the ship East of Las Palmas towards the Old City
We thought we had booked the wrong tour but the “Discover Vegueta” was much more interesting than expected, as there is a whole ‘old city’ to the West of the one we know, which is too far to walk to. First, we went to some large sand sculptures.
The guide said they do it every year but Ken did not remember it from previous trips here. We walked around the old town quite a bit. The large cathedral was shut but there was plenty to see & a lot of architecture, which was hard to date as so eclectic.

An unexpected event was lunch (considering the tour was only £28), consisting of olives & biscuits, local bread & cheese & local potatoes in a sauce, considered special. (It was ok). We walked along the pedestrianised Main Drain by ourselves, stopping for more coffee (& pees). There was a cute old church at the end. Coach back.

The Church of St.Elmo, burned down & rebuilt in 1599
The port wi-fi, taken under a sort of tent near the ship, was superb, unlike the crappy wi-f- in Lisbon.
