Invergordon Murals

Wednesday August 21st 2013 afternoon

To try to brighten up this rather ordinary Scotish town, with an unemployment problem since the Naval Base left and had only been famous in the past for the last Royal Navy mutiny, murals have been painted on the blank ends of buildings.

Invergordon in the afternoon

Thursday August 22nd 2013 - At Sea

Breakfast could be at a reasonable hour today. There was a talk by Charles the Ross Herald about the Scottish Crown Jewels, which was more interesting than expected. Then, we did the bulk of our packing. I changed into slops & before my "Johnny Foreigners' Sea Music" talk, showed slides of Iceland & played the Antarctic Symphony (VW's). This all went down well. After dinner, the MIT Band got a decent audience & then, it was the bit-of-everything show. At the end, all the entertainers except me were paraded. Apparently, they did want me but I did not get the message.
