XMAS 2013 Again we went on a cruise, this time on the MV Boudicca (Fred Olsen) to the Baltic & German coast & it's all on this web site. Above: Us on Xmas Day at sea Xmas 2014 will find us on the Boudicca again. |
DEATH OF CHARLIE BREWSTER ...on 13th December 2013. Charlie was one of Ken's most important friends. They first met at Reuters in 1978, a firm that grossly underused their talents, which in Charlie's case, were very great indeed. Ken would say that Charlie could do the sort of Higher Maths in his head that would take Ken a week with a pencil. More than that, Charlie & Jane were tremendously helpful to Ken when he lost his 1st wife Jane in an accident. We attended his funeral in Wales on January 6th. Our best wishes to Jane & his children, Emily, Victoria & Demian, not forgetting step-children Bethan & Dominic plus spouses & grandchildren. Charles Gavin Brewster 7/10/1947 - 13/12/2013 Ken's tax return is on this link. |
MIKE RICKWOOD BATTLES GUILLAIN-BARRE SYNDROME
A year ago, Mike, with whom Ken went to school at Isleworth Grammar, contracted this highly disabling condition & spent about six months in various hospitals until he was allowed back to his house in Osterley, after it had been converted somewhat. Ken visited him at Roehampton, shortly before his 'release'. However, this thing, while treatable, takes a lot of time & currently, he can manage 2km at 1 mile per hour with 2 sticks. We hope to see him at the annual Isleworth Grammar Xmas Lunch next year. He had to miss the big 60th reunion in September, though, despite it being not far from his house.
