The Washington Democrat Washington, Indiana - Wednesday April 22, 1931

AGED RESIDENT TAKEN BY DEATH THIS MORNING

Mrs. Maria Brown, 80, Was Ill for Three Weeks Mrs. Maria V. Brown, 80, resident of Washington for many years died this morning at 4 o'clock after a serious illness of about three weeks. Death of Mrs. Brown was due to general disability. The deceased was the mother of Mrs. Elizabeth Fowler, local furniture store dealer. Death of Mrs. Brown came at her home 293 Southside Avenue. Mrs. Brown was born in Martin County on August 15, 1850 and was a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles C. Force. She had been married twice, the first being George W. Young in 1880. Mr. Young died in November 1917.....Surviving are three children: Mrs. Fowler, of this city; Clyde Young, of Loogootee, and Mrs. J.O. Gotee of Vincennes. There are two grandchildren: Ramona McIntosh of Cleveland and Majorie Young of Loogootee. One brother and one sister also survive. They are Seth C. Force and Mrs. Mason Sherman of Loogootee....Burial will be at Goodwill cemetery in Loogootee. (This data does not tie up with the tree above. KJB)
