First cruise after Lockdown - Off Cowes Page |
Wednesday 4th August 2021
Cowes
There was no wind in the morning, so the Cowes Week regatta seemed off. Yachts did appear in the afternoon but so did spinnakers. Eventually, the races started. I watched from deck 3, as fewer people were there. I have found that, by dropping code words into the conversation, no one has good word to say for Bozo. In the evening, the Show Team did a Beatles show, possibly the best we have ever seen on a ship.

Thursday 5th August 2021 - Day at Sea
After breakfast, I lost Avis, as I went round the deck 4 times. It turned out she had been to a lecture. No problem. There was a lecture about the Scottish Colourists we had never heard of after lunch. They were pretty good but 3 of the 4 died youngish. Then, Ben & Tyler did a concert, Tyler doing the other 6 Chopin Op.10 etudes & the last 2 movements of Tchaikovsky’s awful Op.37a Piano Sonata. We packed after tea, which took no time at all.
