St.Petersburg Cruise - Riga Page |
Sunday 23rd September - Riga
Central Riga from the Braemar
One of the highlights, as we have never been here before. We went on a City Tour, mostly walking & normally, a waste of money but we did not want to miss anything. Big cobbles and hard for Avis to walk on. There was a dance concert in the Small Guild Hall, using adults & primary school kids, who seemed to be having a whale of a time. Usual fokum dances. Back to the ship & after lunch, I walked onto the bridge to photo our ship, then back into town with my laptop, finding good wi-fi in a café, where I had a coffee. Then, I walked a bit further but most churches seemed shut, except the small Catholic one. Considering the Pope (who does not have many clients hereabouts) is coming tomorrow.
As most of you have not been to Riga, there are a lot of pictures here.
