Western Mediterranean - Nijar (from Almeria) Page |
Thursday 21st May am
In the morning, we had a trip to a village called Nijar above & East of Algeria. It was somewhat cloudy & there was not much to see in Nijar. On the way, the British native guide was scathing about the Spanish but explained the extensive greenhouses that cover the semi-desert ground. Further up, there is real desert but we did not go there. We went round a potters & had coffees (€3 for 2 again with tip) before going up to the austere church & having tapas at a café there before going back to the coach.
