This year, our newsletter is a narrative or some things won't make sense. December 2002 had a record number of Xmas parties, kicked off by the Republic tea (as good as the Ritz) in the House of Lords, a suitable venue for traitors. Philosophy for All, the Stuart Low Trust, Barbican Music & the Sadlers Wells Arts Club all had parties.
We had an enjoyable Xmas lunch in the now departed Sofra with Tsugi, June & Philip Carver from next door.

After Xmas, we drove to Llandudno to stay at the St. George Hotel for two nights, in order to meet Avis' long lost cousin Joan, who’s son Mark found us on the Web. Joan’s father Leonard, Avis' father's younger brother, was one of the designers of the Lancaster bomber but Avis’ mother had excluded him from the family circle. We went on to Manchester to give the boys their presents, staying at a major discovery, the Diamond Lodge Hotel in Belle Vue, now our usual pit oop North. As usual, we had a small New Year's Eve party for fairly local people. Back to school for Avis, who is doing Fast-track French because of our backgrounds.
