Mont Juic Hill, Barcelona, as we came in
Into Barcelona as we got up. We went on a tour to Montserrat. It went through grotty industrial suburbs that seemed to go on for ever, then steeply up to the monastery, which was still in cloud when we got there but the Sun soon boiled them off. The Basque guide was quite a character, trying not to offend anyone. Apparently, some over-enthusiastic lefties at the beginning of the Civil War, trashed it & killed some monks & Franco rebuilt the damaged bit but the church had it coming, as they were instrumental in anyone remotely leftish getting shot by Franco's troops.

The church was not over done. The setting was spectacular, with granite (I think) pillars above & long-distance views. We had coffee & snacks, as the tour ran over lunch time.
