Portofino
Because of the weather, this was a rubbish day. Portofino is a tender port, so we had to go ashore in a lifeboat. As we had a tour in the afternoon, this wrote off the morning, so Ken worked on his talks. After lunch, we took the tender, being tossed around dramatically but on reaching the little harbour, we transferred to a slightly larger boat, which took us round the Gulf of Liguria & was tossed around even more.

We had been due to berth for a while in Rapallo, famous for the Rapallo Pact & Treaty after World War I but the pier had been smashed in the Winter storms, so we just glimpsed it.

However, the next stop at Santa Margherita was practical but, on a vote, we decided to leave an hour early. This gave us time for a coffee & to explore the pedestrianised old centre with its rather magnificent cathedral undergoing serious repairs internally. Then, we had a short but still dramatic voyage back to Portofino & rough tender trip back to the ship.
