After a latish breakfast, we went onto the top deck to watch the ship go in to Tromso. It was a sunny day. We got off at about 10:30 & headed for the Cathedral, which was shut as usual & then, had a problem locating the Art Museum. A banker told us where it was & we went round it. The ground floor was a special show of Peder Balke, a 19thC artist & impressionistic. There was a permanent exhibition on the 1st floor & I photoed some for music shows. The modern stuff on the top floor was not quite up to scratch, somewhat derivative.

On leaving, it was so hot, we went back to the ship so I could dump my coat & Avis, shower & change into a summer dress (in Tromso?) We had lunch & went out again, partly so I could take sunny versions of photos I already had. This only cane unstuck in the old harbour, where a building has been torn down & something, hopefully not too ugly, is being built between the two photos below.

We walked round to the Polar Museum & found Paul the Intellectual coming out, so we spent the rest of the afternoon with him & ended up in the old railway station (which the railway never reached) pub & had very expensive lagers, Kr139 for ours.
